Vince

Although they’d been together 5 years (and thought they knew most things about each other), Vince found out during his first week of Relish that his girlfriend was a Cockatoo, which dramatically improved his understanding of her wants and needs...

One of the first things the app made me do is create a video to send to her, saying how much I miss her and what I love about her. Usually, when we’re apart, I just call or text, so she found it really surprising and sweet that I did that, and I enjoyed just thinking about her in that way again. Honestly, like, it made me relive a couple of the reasons I love her and it was really unexpected. I realized that such a small effort could make such a big impact on her… and that’s when I knew I had to keep doing all the activities Relish told me to do.

I found Relish because we were having some issues and she suggested couples therapy. I didn’t really want to go, but I wanted to make her happy, so I agreed. But she’s really tech savvy and she researches everything so she said she was just going to look at other options before we went to a therapist. She stumbled across Relish and told me they had a free trial, so we could just try it and see how we feel – as opposed to paying a ton of money to try out a therapist. So we both signed up and I can’t even remember the first lesson I got, but it made me think about her and do something nice for her and it hit me: “You know if this is something that we do everyday then it becomes inevitable that you’re just always thinking about the other person and putting your relationship first.”

This app facilitates a different way of thinking: seeing your partner in a positive light or a way you’ve never really seen them before. It’s golden.

This app facilitates a different way of thinking: seeing your partner in a positive light or a way you’ve never really seen them before. It’s golden. It’s so beneficial. I realize I’m analyzing myself, and thinking: ‘Oh where did that come from?’ ‘Why do I feel this way?’ and it makes me stronger and more grounded for sure. Relish is just one of the strongest tools we have for bridging the gap between us and kind of helping us piece everything together. For us, Relish just keeps the fire lit by having you ask yourself questions you never would have thought of before.
